Husband and wife team, Michael Enos and Julie Rienhardt, have successful careers in the nonprofit sector and enjoy sharing this brewing endeavor. After raising two kids while homesteading on the edge of Elkhorn Slough, the fermentology of beer seemed like the next perfect step.
“Elkhorn Slough Brewing Co. is the product of slowly and steadily moving towards our dream of a local platform where we can share our passion for delicious beer and the opportunity to work and share business in partnership with each other.”
Julie started and ran a successful nonprofit organization in Santa Cruz County while Michael was the Chief of Technology at the Second Harvest Foodbank of Santa Clara County. Michael earned his MBA with a concentration in agribusiness at Santa Clara University in 2011. They both are continuing their other careers while brewing and building Elkhorn Slough Brewing Co.
Michael began brewing in college and picked it up again in the early 2000’s. Responding to support and encouragement, Michael and Julie decided to jump into the craft beer business in the summer of 2014.
Jorge Vasquez is our new Taproom Manager and Assistant Brewer. He’s an experienced home brewer with local roots and passion for craft beer.
